CBD (Cannabidiol) is the second most prominent natural chemical compound, below tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), of over eighty-five cannabinoids found within the hemp/cannabis plant, representing forty percent of its extracts. As a non-psychoactive compound, CBD does not act on the same pathways as THC, and is therefore not responsible for the intoxicating ‘high’ associated with illegal cannabis use. Nevertheless, until now, CBD has lived long in the shadows of THC, but continued research has suddenly highlighted its potential health benefits.
CBD is sold as a food supplement in the UK just like vitamins or nutrients. CBD is 100% legal as long as the THC levels are below 0.2%. CBD is also safe for all the family to take on a daily basis. According to a report published by the World Health Organisation (WHO), “naturally occurring CBD is safe and well tolerated in humans (and animals), and is not associated with any negative public health effects.”
While CBD is 100% safe to use you may experience some mild side effects, especially at high doses. The potential side effects include: dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, reduced blood pressure, delay of certain medications’ effects. These side effects are not experienced by everyone and can be easily overcome by drinking plenty of water and making at least a two-hour break between taking CBD and your current medication.
There is no set recommended dose for CBD as everyone reacts differently to this natural product. An effective CBD dose may depend on certain factors including: your weight, tolerance to CBD, age and general health. Try starting with 1 tab a day (21mg) and gradually increase the dose if necessary. Do not exceed the 200mg food supplement daily limit.
Absolutely not! Legal CBD oils only contain safe trace amounts of the psychoactive cannabinoid THC. THC is the substance in cannabis which is known for its psychoactive properties. The levels of THC in our CBD products are so low that you will not notice any effects. We also provide lab reports to back up this statement, so you don’t need to worry about the safety of our CBD products.
