Healthspan expert Dr Hilary Jones is a GP, author, TV presenter and patron of several medical charities, including the Meningitis Research Foundation and London's Air Ambulance. He is currently the Health Editor for Good Morning Britain. Dr. Hilary received an MBE in 2020 for "services to broadcasting, public health information and charity."
Dr Hilary is passionate about empowering people to learn more about their bodies and medical conditions, and he played a leading role during the pandemic in publicising the health benefits of vitamin D.

Medical career
Dr Hilary qualified as a medical doctor at the Royal Free Hospital in London in 1976. He spent 1979 as the only doctor on Tristan de Cunha in the South Atlantic Ocean, looking after its 250 inhabitants. A further isolated posting in 1981 took him to the Sullom Voe oil terminal in Shetland, to work as a GP and emergency doctor for oil industry employees, before moving into general practice in Basingstoke.
Television and radio
Dr Hilary's television career began in 1986 as a presenter of educational medical TV programmes. In 1989 he became the doctor for TV-am, and has appeared regularly on breakfast TV ever since, reporting on topical medical issues and advising on medical problems. He has also been a regular guest on Steve Wright's Radio 2 show.
Published books
Dr Hilary's seven published books cover topics from stress to menopause to complementary therapies. He moved into fiction with his latest titles, Frontline (2021) and The Eye of the Storm (2022), set in France during WWI and the turbulent interwar period.
